Mr. Restore uses an app connected to Instagram and Facebook to answer comments on our posts. This page explains how to ask us to delete the information that app holds about you.
How to request deletion
Email us with the subject line “Data deletion request” and include your Instagram username so we can find your records. You do not need to give a reason.
What information the app holds
When you comment on a Mr. Restore post on Instagram, the app may receive and store:
- your Instagram username and the account ID Instagram assigns to you for our app
- the text of your comment and the time you posted it
- the post you commented on
- the automatic reply we sent you by direct message, and when we sent it
We do not receive your password, your private messages with other people, your followers list, or your contacts.
What happens next
- We find the comment and message records linked to your Instagram account.
- We delete those records from our systems, normally within 30 days of your request.
- We reply to tell you the deletion is complete.
We may keep a record that a deletion request was made, without the deleted content, so we can show the request was honored. We may also keep information we are required by law to keep.
Deleting things yourself
- You can delete your own comment on our post at any time in Instagram.
- You can delete the direct message conversation with us in your Instagram inbox.
- You can block the Mr. Restore account, which stops any further automatic replies.
Deleting a comment or conversation in Instagram does not automatically delete our stored record of it. Use the request above for that.
