How Restore It Forward works
Restore It Forward has two separate parts. Here is exactly what each one is, and who it is for.
Choose the charity we support
When you hire Mr. Restore for a restoration project, you choose which partner organization from our list receives a portion of the proceeds from your project. We make the donation on your behalf.
The monthly $1,000 community award
Each month we gather nominations and give a $1,000 award to someone who is doing something great for another person in their community. The recipient is chosen at random from nominations that meet our basic guidelines.
Restore It Forward — Frequently Asked Questions
Is Restore It Forward a housing grant or a home-repair grant program?
No. Restore It Forward is not a housing grant, a home-repair grant, or a need-based financial assistance program, and there is no application for repair funding. It has two parts: Mr. Restore customers choose a partner charity to receive a portion of the proceeds from their restoration project, and a separate monthly $1,000 award that recognizes someone making a difference for another person in their community.
Can I apply for financial help with my home through Restore It Forward?
No. Restore It Forward does not provide financial assistance for home repairs, rent, mortgage, or housing costs. If you are looking for that kind of help, we recommend contacting the organizations listed on this page directly, as many of them run their own community assistance programs, or visiting USA.gov's home repair assistance programs.
What is the monthly $1,000 Restore It Forward Challenge?
Each month, Mr. Restore gathers nominations and gives a $1,000 award to a member of our community who is doing something great for someone else. The recipient is chosen at random from nominations that meet our basic guidelines. It is a community recognition award — it is not need-based assistance, it is not a home-repair fund, and it is not tied to hiring Mr. Restore.
How do I participate in the charity donation part of Restore It Forward?
The charity donation benefit is for customers who hire Mr. Restore for a restoration project. Once your project is complete, you tell us which organization from our partner list you would like us to support on your behalf. There is no form to fill out and nothing to qualify for.
Does Mr. Restore repair homes through Habitat for Humanity or the other charities listed?
No. The organizations on this page are partner charities that our customers can direct their project proceeds to. Mr. Restore does not provide home repairs, housing assistance, or grant funding through Habitat for Humanity or any other organization on this list. Mr. Restore is a paid water, fire, storm, sewage, and biohazard damage restoration company.
What is the Restore It Forward™ Program?
Thank you so much for choosing and trusting Mr. Restore to assist you in your time of need. Our core focus is “We Like Helping” and when we say that we don’t just mean during a restoration project. We mean we LIKE helping, we want to support our community and the things that they are concerned about, if we see you have a flat tire we want to help change it, if you need a bottle of water we want to get it for you, the list goes on.
So we decided that part of us helping you should also help others, but in a way that you choose. Below we have provided a list of charities that we would love to support on your behalf, and for choosing Mr. Restore a portion of the proceeds will go to one of the charities that you pick. All you have to do is tell us who!

Your business will be listed on our RestoreItForward.org website – inside our Mr. Restore website, which receives thousands of views per day. You’ll be featured on our Facebook posts regularly leading up to the event (viewed by thousands of families and business owners in our towns). Get listed as a Bronze level sponsor on the 4′ x 8′ event banner so every event attendee will see you and the good that you are doing.

You will receive all the perks from the Bronze level, plus we will feature your business on the event t-shirts. You will be listed in our event emails that go out to all attendees with your website and logo and a link to the event sponsors page where you can share your website, phone number, and a detailed summary of your business and offers. You will receive all the perks from the Bronze and Silver levels, but you will be featured at Gold. You will be in the Featured Sponsors section of the event website. You’ll be promoted in our event ads and on our event registration page, which every attendee visits. Also, a “business profile” email will be sent out to all registrants after they register, where we will feature your business and a detailed profile of both why you chose to get involved and anything else you’d like to share about your business and offer. You’ll be featured as a Gold Sponsor for this event, and the next Restore It Forward event! Get a Featured Presentation spot on the “stage” during the event where you can address all attendees!)
